From a strange planet - 25

 Our lockdown trip will start near the southernmost tip of Norway near Kristiansand. From here we'll follow the E39 northward and we'll end our trip in Stavanger. As always we'll also explore side roads.

We will select those camera views that contain nice landscapes and interesting objects. We try to go for maximum mystery and atmosphere, but we're limited in our selection by what we're given.

You can click the links and view the current situation. You might be surprised. Or you might see things not changing at all.

E39 Suvatn - The birch trees, the river and the hills. This view never changes, the rain is eternal.

Rv. 9 Dalehefte - The pines and the hills. The side road into the hills. The strip of snow.

And at night there is light in the trees.

E39 Osestad - The wall and the trees on the right. And the uphill road curving to the right. I would walk that side road and I will dream of walking it.

E39 Vatland - The tunnel. The scene is lit at night.

Fv. 42 Haddelandsheia - The curving lines of snow. The cable. The snow melts slowly and nothing else changes.

E39 Drangsdalen - The house in the trees, on the left. At night the house is dark.

Fv. 42 Tverrå 1 - The pass, the river, the rocks, the electricity cable, the signs.

And at night the reflections on the road markers. Like a constellation of stars.

E39 Saglandsbakken - The converging lampposts, the field, the boulder.

E39 Vikesåbakkane - The fields and the mountain. One day I will walk up that mountain, in Google streetview.

E39 Buekrossen 1 - The bus shelter, the large houses, the lake. The houses feel like a Neo Rauch painting. The bus shelter feels like a Thomas Ligotti story.

E39 Søyland - The trees and the field in the background.

Fv. 45 Dirdal - The garage with the white door, the tree and the bicycle track. I know this site well. Sometimes a car parks there and people walk up and down the stairs from the terrace.

And at night the lights on the garage shine like beacons. In earlier winters, like 2018, there was  a lighted star next to the white door. But 2020 does not deserve Christmas decorations.

Fv. 45 Øvstabø - The clouds and the waterfall. And total darkness at night.

Fv. 45 Hunnedalen - The snowy cages. And total darkness at night. Sometimes rain distorts the view.

Rv. 13 Ryfast - The row of houses, the sky.

And at night the lights in the houses.

Rv. 509 Sundekrossen - The hill, the houses, the clumps of trees.
